57. Appreciation and Congratulations
Brigade Council and Regimental Staff wish to acknowledge and thank various members who Fight the Good Fight and represented our Brigade so well this past month:
- To all recipients of the Long Service and Exemplary Service Awards presented by Her Honour the Lieutenant Governor at Government House on December 18, 2024.
- To LTC Pte. Brody Freeman of Trinity East-Port Rexton Company who so proudly received the Gallant Conduct (Silver) Medal at Government House on December 18,2024. All ranks salute you on this momentous occasion.
- The Regimental Band for representing the CLB at various Christmas community events, and especially for the splendid Christmas Concert at the Armoury on December 15, 2024.

59. Regimental Annual General Meeting
Please be advised that this year’s Regimental Annual General Meeting date has been moved to Sunday, January 19, 2025, commencing at 3pm to be held at St. Paul’s Hall in Harbour Grace. The deadline for having reports submitted was Friday November 15, 2024. Reports are now overdue! Please send them to Col Mercer via email [email protected] ASAP.
In the event of inclement weather preventing travel, we will move the meeting to virtual using google meet. The decision of whether to go with the virtual option will be sent along with the invite to join virtually via email.

60. Training Day- Advance notice
There will be a training day offered to all adult leaders, W&NCO’s (you do not have to be enrolled in Proficiency to attend) date is TBD but aiming for end of February - early March. This day will be open to everyone interested in growing their knowledge in different areas of training Ie. Drill, PTCF, Colours, parade format etc. An advanced schedule of the day with individual time intervals will be sent out for those who can not attend a full day but wishes to take part in specific areas.

61. The C.L.B. 50/50 Draw
Congratulations to Ms. Joan Bryne, (ticket # C-1172), the lucky winner of The C.L.B. 50/50 draw at the Armoury on December 16, 2024. Present for the draw was Executive Director Mr. Derek White, Colonel Sheila Mercer, Colonel Albert Pelley, Colonel Keith Arns, Mr. Bruce Tilley and Mr. Chris Facey. Members of the finance committee would sincerely like to thank all participants for your kind support.
62. Annual Strength Returns
All Brigade units are required to provide Annual Strength Returns (a.k.a. Nominal Roll) as of December 31, 2024, using the forms attached to these Orders. There are separate forms for youth members and staff. The completed forms are due on January 31, 2025. Please submit to [email protected]
63. HST Rebate
The C.L.B. qualifies for a 50% rebate on HST paid on invoices, through a semi-annual claim made by Brigade Council. Any Company or other Brigade unit that paid HST on purchases from July 1 to December 31, 2024, could qualify for the 50% HST rebate. To claim the rebate, please submit a list of paid invoices showing the amount of HST paid on each invoice, or copies of paid invoices, to Mr. Derek White [email protected], by January 31, 2025. Original invoices should be retained by the Brigade units for six years.
64. The Bugle
For the 2024-2025 training year we will be publishing two editions of the Bugle.
The deadline for the next submission will be Friday, March 21,2025. Please send all submissions to [email protected], We prefer to receive articles in Microsoft Word format, and photos should be sent separately, in the highest quality possible.
65. Regimental Staff Meeting
There will be a Regimental staff meeting on Jan 14, 2025. This meeting will focus on preparation for AGM. Meetings will be in person at CLB Armoury and virtual for anyone out of town.
66. Old Comrades Lodge #1
The Annual General Meeting with election of officers for Lodge #1 will be held on Thursday January 16, 2025, at the Old Comrades Lodge #1, 106 LeMarchant Road commencing at 7:30 p.m. All members of the C.L.B.19+ are eligible and are encouraged to be members of the Old Comrades Association in their respective battalions or community. Please consider showing your support and joining their ranks.
Each year, the Old Comrades Lodge #1 hosts a cribbage and dart tournament for their members and all C.L.B. members 19+. This year’s event is scheduled for Saturday February 22/25, starting at 12 p.m. Come enjoy this afternoon of fun and camaraderie and in turn support Lodge #1.
67. Community Outreach and Fun Activities
As part of our community outreach and helping bring awareness about the C.L.B. to our neighbouring schools etc. we plan to host free events for our members along with youth in our community, such as our Easter Egg Hunt. Advance Notice: Saturday February 15, 2025, has been booked at the armoury to host what will be our first event and the annual Easter Egg Hunt is scheduled for Saturday April 19, 2025.
