WHAT DOES THE C.L.B. DO?

The C.L.B. Badge Work program is a cornerstone of our organization, offering many diverse courses tailored to the interests and age groups of our youth members. These courses cover a wide array of topics, and earning a badge or certificate serves as a recognition of our members' accomplishments and dedication to personal development. By engaging in our Badge Work program, children can explore their passions, acquire new skills, and build self-confidence, all while having fun and making lasting memories.

The C.L.B.'s Leadership Training program is designed to empower and shape our youth members into future leaders as they progress into their teenage years. Experienced training officers provide coaching and guidance, encouraging participants to take on additional responsibilities and contribute to program delivery for younger members. Through various activities such as teaching basic drill movements, supervising sports programs, honing instructional techniques, and practicing public speaking, our Leadership Training program equips participants with essential skills and fosters a strong sense of responsibility, teamwork, and confidence. The CLB takes pride in helping young people develop leadership skills that will serve them well throughout their lives and careers.

The Duke of Edinburgh's Award is an esteemed international program, available to young individuals aged 14 to 25, which the C.L.B. proudly offers as part of its comprehensive range of activities. The program's objectives encompass the development of essential life skills such as self-reliance, discipline, perseverance, and determination, while also promoting community involvement, social development, and the spirit of adventure. Participants in the program are encouraged to pursue personal growth and fitness, acquire vocational and cultural skills, and foster international understanding and awareness. The Duke of Edinburgh's Award plays a vital role in shaping well-rounded, globally-conscious individuals who are prepared to contribute positively to society.

At the C.L.B., we believe in the value of memorable and enriching experiences for our youth, which is why we offer camping as an integral part of our diverse range of activities. Each year, our camps provide an unforgettable opportunity for members to bond, learn new skills, and develop a greater appreciation for the outdoors. Tailored to suit different age groups, camp activities include swimming, canoeing, target shooting with air rifles, archery, soccer, T-ball, soccer-baseball, and orienteering and wilderness survival. The positive impact of these camps is evident, as members who attend often continue their involvement in the Brigade and advance through the ranks, creating a lasting connection with the C.L.B. community.

The "Put the Child First" Program is a vital component of the C.L.B.'s commitment to ensuring a safe and nurturing environment for all our members. Recognizing the importance of abuse awareness and prevention, we have developed a comprehensive training program for both youth members and adult leaders. This training focuses on the recognition of inappropriate behavior, abuse avoidance, taking appropriate action when abuse is suspected, and effective bullying intervention strategies. By equipping our community with the knowledge and tools needed to address these critical issues, we create a supportive and empowering atmosphere that fosters the well-being and growth of every individual involved in the C.L.B.

At the C.L.B., we believe in providing a diverse range of experiences to engage and inspire our members, which is why we offer an assortment of other activities that are ever evolving, and cater to various interests and skill sets. These activities include hiking, crafts, survival training, drill, archery, scavenger hunts, weekend outings, and so much more. By offering such a wide array of options, we encourage our members to explore new hobbies, develop essential skills, and foster lasting friendships. These activities not only contribute to a well-rounded and fulfilling experience within the C.L.B. but also support the personal growth and development of our members, helping to shape them into confident and capable individuals.
